The SmartLF SGi scanner, available in 36" and 44" sizes, is ideal for capturing sharp details on technical drawings and maps. It delivers the vibrant, accurate color quality that graphic professionals demand.

The large-format SmartLF SGi scanner series offers all the advantages of superior color imaging from CCD camera technology—including the ability to scan a wide color gamut and high dynamic range. (Ability to capture details in dark and bright areas) – Combined with 1200 dpi optical resolution, the highest available in CCD wide-format scanners on the market today, making it ideal for scanning vibrant and accurate color images for professional graphic designers, as well as capturing clear line details in technical documents and maps with exceptional precision.

The SmartLF SGi series scanners utilize Colortrac's advanced SureDrive paper transport system to maintain precise document positioning as it moves through the scanner. Combined with the dual-directional, bright white LED illumination system called ClearView, this ensures that even folded documents are scanned accurately with minimal shadows on the document.

Images will be scanned using 48-bit (color) or 16-bit (black and white) and saved as 24-bit (color) or 8-bit (black and white) files, respectively, which are the best image data formats.

• No warm-up, no waiting.

Although scanners with full fluorescence modes can be used within five minutes of powering on, it is recommended to allow the scanner to warm up for approximately 30 minutes. This ensures that the tubes reach the optimal light intensity and that the tube temperature stabilizes. If the process is not completed during this time, color matching and image registration errors may occur due to the scanner still being cold.
The ClearView white LEDs used in the Colortrac SmartLF SGi provide high-quality scanning, just like full fluorescent lighting. However, the color temperature of the LEDs remains consistent from the first to the last scan, unlike fluorescent tubes. There is no need to wait for the scanner to warm up; simply turn it on and start scanning! 

• The more cameras, the greater the accuracy.

SmartLF SGi features up to 6 built-in CCDs across the entire scan width to minimize geometric distortion, offering more than comparable scanners from other brands. Traditional CCD scanners tend to experience image alignment issues and reduced accuracy due to misalignment of the sensors. These problems are significantly minimized by the SmartLF SGi, which is equipped with six CCD arrays integrated into a robust monocoque camera housing.

• Benefits of CCD Cameras

Scanners equipped with traditional CCD camera arrays produce superior color images, but they suffer from limitations due to their continued use of full fluorescent lighting systems. However, with the SmartLF SGi, the adoption of white LED tubes in place of conventional fluorescent tubes allows the SmartLF SGi to maximize the capabilities of CCD imaging. At the same time, it saves both time and energy.

• Low maintenance

SmartLF SGi requires minimal service, maintenance, and calibration of the scanner. The utility software that comes with the scanner provides all the maintenance applications you need to keep your large-format document scanner in excellent condition and allows you to update the firmware and drivers at any time. The glass assembly is magnetically secured for quick and easy removal, cleaning, or replacement. Accessing the paper pickup assembly of the SmartLF SGi for cleaning is straightforward and easily accessible.
